We will search for new bioactive components from plant resources worldwide, isolate and purify the active components and conduct drug discovery research aimed at the chemical synthesis of new highly active derivatives.
In addition, to develop functional foods useful for preventing lifestyle-related diseases, which have become a major problem worldwide in recent years, we will conduct functional exploration and evaluation research targeting edible medicinal plants and identify the active components of plants with useful activity.
In addition, quality control of crude drugs is conducted using chemical analytic techniques, such as 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), a chemical analysis technique that enables the simple generation of highly reproducible measurements.
